Microsoft DRM also known as PlaysForSureTM has become the most popular digital rights management system due to its reasonable licensing terms and comprehensive reference implementation.
As designers have upgraded from audio to video capability in PMPs, the security processing has become a significant burden on the embedded processor. Designers are using security offload engines such as the ESM-03 to free the embedded processor for other activities.
