Protocol Accelerators & Processors

Elliptic offers a broad portfolio of high-performance security protocol accelerators and processors which are widely deployed in the field in a wide range of leading SoCs and embedded systems. These highly integrated engines help chip designers to efficiently balance power, performance and silicon area, as well as reduce time to market, reduce risk and deliver high performance solutions within universal products.

The Security Protocol Processors (SPP) family of products encompasses a broad range of security solutions that are designed for optimum configurability to ensure the customer achieves the level of functionality and performance they require. The SPP family covers all security requirements, from diverse symmetric cryptographic offload, to asymmetric functions and TRNG, as well as packet processing support for all major security protocols, such as IPsec, SSL/TLS/DTSL, WiMAX, Wi-Fi, 3GPP LTE/LTE-A, SRTP, MACsec, PKI and storage.

The IEEE has ratified the 802.1AE Media Access Control Security (MACsec) standard which offers connectionless user data confidentiality, frame data integrity, and data origin authenticity for LANs, metropolitan optical networks and other applications. The data plane protocol defines the frame format for data encapsulation, encryption, and authenticity using the high performance authenticating cipher GCM-AES. Elliptic has three inline products in this space - the LLP-06: Ultra Low Latency MACsec PDU Processor which features the industry's lowest latency, the LLP-04: MACsec Link Encryptor and the LLP-05: MACsec PDU Processor. The LLP-04 offers both PDU Processing as well as connectivity association (CA) look-up on both the receiving and transmitting data paths. The LLP-05 is optimized for PDU Processing and allows customers to implement CA look-up elsewhere in the data path.

Elliptic's family of Encapsulating Security Protocol and Authentication Header (ESP/AH) processors implement the packet transforms required for IPsec ESP and AH as defined in IETF RFC 4301 Security Architecture for the Internet Protocol.

Featured Products

A proven HDCP-based content protection solution that provides robust security inside Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) and enforces the protection of sensitive information to ensure that it is stored, processed and accessed only by authorized applications. The solution integrates seamlessly within frameworks such as ARM TrustZone™, where the critical security components are embedded in a trusted and secure OS environment. The non-critical components are executed by the rich OS, such as Android.
tower CLP-630: Multi-Packet Manager Security Engine
A highly programmable and unique Security Protocol Accelerator specifically designed to efficiently process data for high capacity wireless and network applications. The engine is perfectly suited for applications that deal with multiple active connections and significant traffic load on different contexts, such as 4G LTE-Advanced wireless cellular base stations and femtocells.
